Today, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, Rt. Rev. Dan Zoreka, accompanied by Mama Flora Zoreka, visited Kangarame Church of Uganda Parish for a Confirmation and Farewell Service.
During the service, Bishop Dan confirmed 66 Christians, encouraging them to remain steadfast in their faith, committed to the teachings of Christ, and active in the life and ministry of the Church.

He urged them to continue serving God faithfully and to uphold unity within the Church.

The service was attended by clergy, parish leaders, and hundreds of Christians who gathered to celebrate the confirmation of the candidates and to bid farewell to Bishop Dan and Mama Flora as they continue their farewell pastoral visits across the Diocese.

Emmanuel Church of Uganda, Kibimbiri Parish, marked a significant milestone on 30/07/2026 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Compassion International, officially paving the way for the implementation of the Kibimbiri Compassion Project.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Diocesan Secretary, Rev. Elizabeth Akandiinda, who represented the Diocese during the event. The partnership underscores a shared commitment to holistic child development through interventions in education, healthcare, spiritual nurture, and social transformation.

As part of the day’s proceedings, a seven-member Interim Committee was constituted to guide the initial implementation of the project and coordinate preparations for its successful rollout. The implementation roadmap was also presented, outlining key activities and milestones for the project’s commencement.
In a further demonstration of their commitment to safeguarding children, members of the Parish Council signed the Child and Youth Protection and Safeguarding Code of Conduct, affirming their dedication to upholding the highest standards of child protection, integrity, and accountability throughout the implementation of the project.
The Diocese of Kinkiizi thanks God for this important milestone and looks forward to seeing the Kibimbiri Compassion Project positively impact the lives of children, families, and the wider community through this partnership.

The Diocese of Kinkiizi has today officially launched a comprehensive transition programme across its 11 archdeaconries as preparations begin for the retirement of the Rt. Rev. Dan Zoreka and the eventual enthronement of the third Bishop of the Diocese.
The transition programme seeks to ensure that every Christian across the Diocese actively participates in the preparations through structured consultations and engagement at every level of the Church.
Kinkiizi Diocese, founded on 7 May 1995, was led by its inaugural Bishop, the late Rt. Rev. John Wilson Ntegyereize. On 10 October 2010, the Rt. Rev. Dan Zoreka became the second Bishop of the Diocese and has faithfully shepherded the Diocese ever since. Bishop Zoreka is scheduled to retire on 30 May 2027, in accordance with the Church of Uganda’s retirement guidelines.
The Diocesan Transition Committee is chaired by Hon. Canon Designate John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, with Hon. Eng. Sam Kajojo, the Diocesan Head of Laity, serving as Deputy Chairperson. The Secretary General of the transition programme is Rev. Canon Kenneth Kanyankole, who today briefed and commissioned facilitation teams before dispatching them to all the archdeaconries to commence the diocesan-wide rollout.
The teams are engaging Christians across the archdeaconries to explain the transition process, gather views, and encourage broad participation as the Diocese prepares for a smooth, prayerful and inclusive leadership transition.
Following today’s archdeaconry meetings, the programme will continue through all levels of the Church structure:
30 July 2026 (10:00 a.m.) – Meetings at all parishes across the Diocese. 4 August 2026 (2:00 p.m.) – Meetings at all sub-parishes. 9 August 2026 – Cell (Ebyanga/Hill) meetings to ensure participation reaches every Christian at the grassroots.
The Diocese says the phased approach is intended to promote transparency, unity and ownership of the transition process by involving Christians from every parish, sub-parish and cell within Kinkiizi.
As the Diocese journeys towards the retirement of its second Bishop and the welcoming of its third Bishop in 2027, Church leaders have called upon all Christians to participate actively in the scheduled engagements .

The Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, The Rt. Rev. Dan Zoreka, paid a farewell visit to Nyamiyaga Secondary School, where he commended the remarkable transformation the institution has undergone over the years.
Speaking during the visit, Bishop Zoreka praised the Headmistress, Mrs. Evas Twesigye, for her dedicated leadership, noting that the school has been transformed from its former state into a well-organized and attractive centre of learning. He also recognized the invaluable contribution of Mr. Benon Biryomumeisho, the Deputy Headmaster, who has faithfully served the school for 26 years, describing his long and committed service as instrumental to the school’s growth.
The Bishop further appreciated Mr. Justus Turyamureeba Kibiriiti, the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Governors, who represented the Board Chairperson, Mr. Hamlet Ahimbisibwe. He thanked the two leaders for their dedicated and proactive leadership, saying their commitment, guidance, and support have played a significant role in the continued progress and development of the school.
Addressing the students, Bishop Zoreka encouraged them to remain patient, disciplined, and committed to their studies, describing education as one of the surest paths to a brighter future. He urged them to shun bad company and practices that could derail their dreams and instead remain focused on achieving their academic and personal goals.
The Headmistress thanked Bishop Zoreka for his unwavering support to the school throughout his episcopal ministry. On behalf of the staff, she also expressed gratitude to the Diocesan Education Coordinator, Rev. Canon Stella Alinaitwe, and the Bishop for entrusting her with the leadership of the school, saying the confidence placed in her had enabled the school to register significant progress.
Bishop Zoreka also applauded the school administration for promoting environmental conservation through tree planting. He expressed particular joy on seeing a mango tree he planted in 2015, which has since matured into a source of shade and fruit for students. He described the tree as a lasting reminder that, just like trees, investments in education require patience, care, and commitment before they bear fruit.

The Bishop further encouraged Christians to remain anchored in Christ, drawing inspiration from the biblical example of Enoch, who walked faithfully with God throughout his life. He emphasized that a life lived in close fellowship with God is the foundation of true success and eternal hope.
Bishop Zoreka was received by the Archdeacon of the area, Ven. Canon Bernard Byamugisha, accompanied by clergy, students, teachers, parents, Christians, local leaders, and other well-wishers.

The Bishop made the call during his farewell visit to the institute, where he received a warm and colourful welcome from students and staff, who lined up to receive him with songs of joy and celebration.
Preaching during the service, Bishop Zoreka encouraged the students to combine technical excellence with Christian values. He noted that although many people can build houses, carry out plumbing works, install electrical systems, and practice other trades, the real challenge is finding professionals who are honest and dependable. He urged the students to let integrity distinguish them in their careers.
During the service, the Bishop also confirmed four Christians into the Anglican faith, including the Institute’s Guild President, and encouraged the newly confirmed believers to remain anchored in Christ and faithfully live out their Christian calling.

Canon Stellah Arineitwe, for their continued support towards the institute’s growth. He reaffirmed the school’s commitment to equipping Ugandans with practical skills that will transform lives and contribute to national development.

During the service, Bishop Zoreka confirmed 16 Christians into the Anglican faith. Bishop Dan and Maama Florah were warmly received by the clergy, church leaders, and the Christian community of Kirima as they embarked on this significant farewell journey.
In his message, Bishop Zoreka thanked the Christians of Kirima for their love, prayers, and unwavering support throughout his 16-year episcopal ministry. He also asked believers to continue praying for a smooth transition as the Diocese prepares to receive its Third Bishop.
The Bishop encouraged Christians to remain anchored in Christ, the only sure anchor who never disappoints, and to walk faithfully with God throughout their lives, just as Enoch walked with God. He urged believers to live in close fellowship with the Lord every day and remain steadfast in their Christian faith.
The farewell parish visits will continue across the Diocese as Bishop Dan and Maama Florah Zoreka visit parishes to thank Christians for their support and celebrate God’s faithfulness throughout their ministry.
The Soldiers of Christ, a youth ministry of the Diocese of Kinkiizi dedicated to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, today held a prayer and fasting session at Kanyantorogo Church of Uganda in preparation for an evangelistic outreach to schools in Kanyantorogo Archdeaconry.
The two-year-old ministry continues to reach young people through vibrant missions and online fellowships, with a vision of spreading the Gospel across the Diocese of Kinkiizi and the Province of the Church of Uganda. The session was attended by members of the Soldiers of Christ and the Kinkiizi Youth Evangelist Team.
Addressing the youth, the Diocesan Youth and Children Coordinator, Rev. Steven Niwabeine, urged them to surrender, submit, and commit themselves to God as they fulfil their calling to preach the Gospel. His message was echoed by Rev. Owen Abaho, Parish Priest of Kashojwa Church of Uganda, who encouraged them to remain faithful in ministry.
The event was hosted by Rev. Bob Mababazi, Parish Priest of Centenary Church of Uganda, Kanyantorogo, and Patron of the Soldiers of Christ ministry.
The upcoming mission will see the team visit more than 20 schools across Kanyantorogo Archdeaconry to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, encourage students to commit their lives to Christ, and inspire them to grow in Christian faith and godly living.
The Diocese of Kinkiizi has on Saturday, 11 July 2026, held a Mass Wedding Service during which 17 couples solemnized their marriages after successfully completing marriage counselling and orientation organized by St. Peter’s Cathedral Nyakatare Deanery.
The couples voluntarily registered for the ceremony as part of the Deanery’s ongoing efforts to promote Christian marriage, strengthen families, and encourage couples to formalize their unions before God.
The service was presided over by the Rt. Rev. Dan Zoreka, Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, and led by the Very Rev. Canon Richard Tumwebaze, Sub-Dean of St. Peter’s Cathedral Nyakatare.
In his sermon, Bishop Dan congratulated the newly married couples and urged them to build their homes on the foundation of God’s Word. He encouraged them to remain faithful to one another, to love unconditionally, and to uphold their marriage vows with commitment and mutual respect, reminding them that Christ should always remain at the centre of their families.
As part of the celebration, the Diocesan Head of Laity, Hon. Eng. Sam Kajojo, presented special gifts to each of the newly wedded couples as a gesture of love, encouragement, and support as they begin a new chapter in their married lives.
The joyous occasion was further marked by a welcome rainfall after a prolonged dry spell. Worshippers received the rain with thanksgiving, describing it as a timely blessing from God that added to the significance and joy of the celebration.
The Mass Wedding Service reflects the Diocese of Kinkiizi’s continued commitment to strengthening Christian families by equipping couples for lifelong, God-centred marriages.
