Bridging Faith and Technology: The ICT Department

In an increasingly digital world, the Diocese of Kinkiizi recognizes that the message of the Gospel must reach every corner—not just through physical pulpits, but through the digital airwaves, social networks, and online platforms. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department was established to serve as the technological heartbeat of this mission.

The department was pioneered by Rev. Bob Mbabazi Ntegyereize, whose visionary leadership laid the technical foundation for our digital transformation. Today, the office is spearheaded by Mr. Allan Ainemigisha, who continues to integrate modern digital tools to elevate the Church’s reach.

Our Role: Technical Stewardship for the Gospel

While the Diocesan Secretary remains the chief communicator and voice of the Diocese, the ICT Department handles the complex technical machinery that turns that voice into a global presence. We operate at the intersection of traditional ministry and high-tech innovation.

🌐 Key Technical Mandates

  • Digital Outreach & Evangelism: Managing the Diocese’s online presence, live-streamed services, and social media platforms to ensure that our worship and pastoral messages transcend geographic boundaries.
  • Infrastructure Management: Maintaining the Diocesan network, computer systems, and server stability to keep the administrative offices, schools, and health units connected.
  • Technical Support: Providing hands-on assistance to other diocesan departments, ensuring that staff are equipped with the digital skills and functional hardware needed to execute their roles.
  • Data Integrity & Digitization: Transforming paper-based records into secure, accessible digital databases to enhance institutional efficiency and historical preservation.

Working Hand-in-Hand with the Diocesan Secretary

The relationship between the ICT Department and the Diocesan Secretary is a symbiotic partnership between Message and Medium.

The Diocesan Secretary acts as the Chief Communicator, determining the what, the why, and the when of our institutional messaging.

The ICT Department provides the how. We build the digital infrastructure, engineer the broadcast quality, manage the online traffic, and maintain the platforms that allow the Bishop’s message to reach thousands simultaneously.

Our Vision: A Fully Connected Diocese

Mr. Allan Ainamazima and the current ICT team are dedicated to moving beyond simple IT support toward a Proactive Digital Transformation. Our future objectives include:

  • Expanding Digital Access: Extending high-speed internet and reliable network coverage to our rural health clinics and educational centers.
  • Modern Media Production: Upgrading our studio capabilities to produce high-definition visual content for global mission awareness.
  • Tech-Driven Education: Supporting the upcoming African University of Science and Management (AUSM) with advanced laboratory facilities and digital learning portals.

“Using every tool at our disposal to ensure that the Good News is accessible, archived, and heard across the digital landscape.”

Rev. Bob Mbabazi Ntegyereize (Former ICT Officer – Diocese of Kinkiizi)
