Education Dept

📚 Welcome to the Education Department

The Education Department of the Diocese of Kinkiizi is dedicated to nurturing both the minds and spirits of our community. The department is currently coordinated by Rev. Can. Stellah Arineitwe, who leads our educational mission with faith, vision, and dedication.

⭐ A Rich History & Expanding Footprint

The Church of Uganda—and the Diocese of Kinkiizi in particular—has a long, proud history of foundational involvement in the education of our people. From humble beginnings, our educational network has grown tremendously to meet the needs of our youth.

Today, we proudly oversee a diverse network of institutions:

  • 📖 84 Primary Schools – Laying the foundation of literacy, faith, and knowledge for our youngest learners.
  • 📚 14 Secondary Schools – Guiding teenagers through critical years of academic and personal growth.
  • 🛠️ 5 Tertiary & Vocational Institutions – Equipping young adults with practical, hands-on skills for self-reliance.
  • 🏥 1 Nursing School at Bwindi – Training the next generation of healthcare heroes to serve our communities.
  • 🏥 1 University (AUSAM)– African University of Science and Technology: Starting Soon Officially.

⭐ Progress Amidst Challenges

While limited financial resources mean the diocese cannot always do everything we wish to support our schools, teachers, and staff, we refuse to stand still. Good progress is being made every day.

Through strategic partnerships, dedicated scholarship funds, and active participation in the government’s UPE (Universal Primary Education) and USE (Universal Secondary Education) programmes, we are steadily expanding access to quality schooling. By God’s grace, we look forward to achieving even greater milestones in the years ahead.

📚 Theological Training & Leadership

A thriving diocese requires spiritually formed leaders. There remains a great need for more ordained ministers to shepherd our flock. Even though theological training courses are financially costly, we thank God for His continuous provision. Year after year, the Diocese is blessed to send a good number of dedicated candidates for ministry training.

⭐ A Heart of Gratitude

Our growth would be impossible without the hands and hearts of those who came before us and those who stand with us today. We extend our deepest appreciation to:

  • The Heads of Institutions (Past & Present): Thank you for your tireless leadership and the invaluable service you have rendered to our students.
  • Our Mission Partners: We are immensely grateful to everyone who has generously contributed toward the development of our schools.
  • Can. Marvin Bamforth: A special thank you to our exceptional Scholarship Coordinator, whose dedicated work continues to open doors for so many deserving students.

⭐ Academic Quality Assurance: To maintain high standards of teaching and learning across all our schools, the diocese features a dedicated inspectorate desk capably managed by our Inspector of Schools, Mr. Joab Asiimwe.

📖 Looking Forward: A Shared Responsibility

While we celebrate how far we have come, much more still needs to be done to elevate our schools and institutions to their highest potential. Meeting these challenges calls for our cooperative responsibility, shared goodwill, and collective prayer. Together, as a diocese and community, we can continue to build a brighter, Christ-centered future through education.
