Overview & Holistic Ministry

The Diocese of Kinkiizi is predominantly evangelical, rooted deeply in Christ’s threefold ministry of preaching, teaching, and healing. To operationalize this vision, a specialized office for this Ministry is established at the Diocesan headquarters, championing a Holistic Ministry approach that nurtures both the spiritual and physical well-being of the community.

The Diocese actively encourages and fosters the exercise of spiritual gifts through:

  • Prayer, fasting, and vibrant fellowships.
  • Evangelism, crusades, and open sharing of testimonies.
  • Deep-dive Bible study, guidance, and counseling.
  • A strong emphasis on Christian ethics and morals.

1. Healing and Deliverance Centres

The Diocese oversees seven dedicated healing and deliverance centres, alongside active ministries embedded within every local congregation. These centres serve as sanctuaries for spiritual renewal, deliverance, and physical restoration.

2. Kirenzi Prayer Mountain

A cornerstone of the diocese’s spiritual discipline, Christians regularly gather for periodic one-day fasting and prayer summits on the summit of Kirenzi Prayer Mountain, seeking revival and divine intervention for the community.

3. Media & Radio Evangelism

To transcend geographical boundaries, the department leverages radio broadcast ministries to reach a expansive audience:

  • Sunday Morning Broadcasts: Weekly preaching reaching thousands of households.
  • The “Words of Hope” Programme: Airing every Wednesday, this crucial program specifically targets marginalized and vulnerable groups, including:
    • The Batwa (indigenous pygmies) community.
    • The sick in hospital beds and the elderly at home.
    • Inmates in prisons.
  • Regional Reach: The Words of Hope broadcast currently covers almost all parts of Western Uganda, extending its reach into parts of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, with a long-term vision of global evangelization via digital and radio broadcasts.

Current Ministry Challenges

Despite a profound spiritual harvest, the department faces critical operational bottlenecks that limit its potential:

  • Transport Limitations: A severe lack of reliable transport means hinders the team’s ability to conduct routine parish visitations and deep-rural missions.
  • Difficult Terrain: The geographical landscape of Kinkiizi is notoriously hilly and mountainous, making movement exceptionally difficult without specialized vehicles.
  • Equipment Shortages: A lack of robust music and Public Address (PA) systems limits the reach and impact of open-air crusades and large-scale conferences.
  • Financial Constraints: Limited funding restricts the department’s capacity to facilitate vital training seminars, localized crusades, and cross-border international outreaches.

A Call for Partnership & Prayer

As the core heartbeat of the Church’s mandate, the Missions and Evangelism department urgently requires targeted prayers, strategic partnerships, and financial support to overcome these hurdles and run effectively.
